Pofu is a play-to-learn language app for children and adults. This page explains which parts of the app suit which age and how age is protected. The age rating on the store is consistent with this page.
The vocabulary, reading, listening, speaking and grammar games are educational content: no ads, no content from other users, and links leaving the app sit behind the guide PIN in child mode.
An adult opens the account; child profiles are managed under it and protected by a 4-digit guide PIN. In child mode, purchases, account linking, account deletion and external links ask for the PIN; the community, AI features and usage recording are fully off. Child profiles are never listed to other members anywhere.
Chat, language exchange, posts, comments, voice messages and voice calls are open only to users who have linked their account, declared they are 18 or over and accepted the community rules. Where the device provides an age signal (Apple's Declared Age Range API) it is honoured: a minor signal closes the community. Child and school accounts never see the community. There is no random or anonymous chat; calls happen only between paired members or friends. Any content can be reported and any member blocked; reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
Pofu Tutor, the diary teacher, exam scoring, translation and pronunciation scores run in adult mode and with explicit permission; they are off in child mode.
The YDS, YÖKDİL, IELTS and TOEFL preparation content consists of academic texts and questions, for teenagers and adults preparing for those exams.
The Pofu Plus subscription and coin packs are sold through the App Store / Google Play; in child mode a purchase asks for the guide PIN. There are no chance elements, gambling or loot boxes.
To view, correct or delete your child's data, use the app with the guide PIN or write to [email protected]. See also the Privacy Policy and privacy choices.
