Is it free?
All of A1 is free in all 13 languages, and so is the first chapter of every level after it. No card needed. The rest opens with Plus; the yearly plan starts with 14 days free, cancel any time. Every narrator voice is free either way.
Do the games actually teach anything?
The course is underneath the games, not next to them. Every word is introduced, then returns inside whatever you are playing until you have answered it correctly in both directions, and the ones you miss come back sooner. 4,000+ words and 489 levels per language, with a daily report of what was practised.
Are there ads?
None, at any level, free or paid. Nothing to watch, nothing to dismiss.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. A level of a language can be downloaded in full: words, pictures and audio: from the downloads screen, and plays offline after that. Words added later are fetched quietly in the background the next time you are online.
